Vitamin, peptide and biotin micro-injections directly into the scalp — accelerates hair regrowth and complements PRP therapy. By Dr. Reena Sharma, MD Dermatology.
Mesotherapy is the second pillar of our hair-restoration toolkit (alongside PRP). It delivers a cocktail of vitamins (B-complex, biotin), peptides, hyaluronic acid and amino acids directly to your scalp via micro-injections. The targeted delivery achieves what oral supplements cannot — getting the right nutrients exactly where follicles need them.
How mesotherapy fits in a hair plan
Mesotherapy works best as part of a multi-modal hair-fall plan, not a standalone solution. We typically prescribe it for:
Stress-related hair fall — telogen effluvium from illness, post-COVID, post-pregnancy
Active hair fall in early-stage androgenetic alopecia — combined with PRP
Hair density support — for patients with thinning that does not yet need PRP
Post-PRP boost — alternating sessions to accelerate results
What a session looks like
Topical numbing (20 min) — cream applied across treatment zones
Cocktail preparation — pre-mixed sterile FDA-approved formula
Micro-injections (15 min) — fine needle, 1cm grid pattern across thinning zones
Aftercare — no hair wash for 24 hours, no heat styling for 48 hours, gentle scalp care for 5 days

Quick answers
Mesotherapy — Frequently Asked Questions
How is mesotherapy different from PRP?
PRP uses your own blood-derived growth factors. Mesotherapy uses a manufactured cocktail of vitamins (B-complex, biotin), peptides, hyaluronic acid and amino acids. Different mechanism — PRP triggers repair pathways, mesotherapy delivers nutrition directly. Best results often come from combining both.
Is mesotherapy painful?
Comparable to PRP — multiple small injections across the scalp. Topical numbing cream applied 20 minutes beforehand makes it comfortable. Sensation is mild pressure rather than sharp pain.
How many sessions will I need?
Typical course: 4 to 6 sessions, 2 to 4 weeks apart. Maintenance: every 3 months. Best results at 3 to 4 months as nutrition stimulates follicle regeneration.
Are the ingredients safe?
Yes — we use FDA-approved meso cocktails with verified composition. The vitamins and peptides are well-tolerated. Mild redness, occasional bruising at injection sites for 1 to 2 days.
Can I do mesotherapy and PRP in the same session?
Yes, and we frequently do. PRP + meso combo accelerates results compared to either alone. Especially effective for stress-induced hair fall and post-COVID telogen effluvium.
Is mesotherapy only for hair?
Mostly for scalp/hair in our practice. Body mesotherapy (cellulite, fat loss) is offered by some clinics but evidence is weaker — we focus on hair where the science is solid.
