If you have ever booked laser hair removal in Noida, you have probably noticed the price spread: ₹500 sessions at salons, ₹3,000 at unbranded clinics, ₹8,000+ at chain centres. This page explains exactly what you are paying for at Derma Essence, why not all lasers are safe on Indian skin, and what realistic 6-session results look like.
Why Indian skin needs the right laser
South Asian skin contains more melanin than European skin. IPL machines (intense pulsed light, common at salons) cannot tell the difference between melanin in your hair root and melanin in your skin — so they target both. The result on Type IV–V skin is burns, blisters, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that can take 6+ months to fade.
The gold standard for Indian skin tones is the diode laser, specifically the Soprano Titanium. Its 755/810/1064 nm triple-wavelength is calibrated to ignore epidermal melanin and only target the hair follicle's root. We use this device at Derma Essence on every patient.
What a Soprano Titanium session looks like
Pre-session check 5 min
We confirm you have shaved the area the night before, that you have not waxed/threaded/epilated for 4 weeks, and that you have not had heavy sun exposure or self-tanner for 2 weeks. Skin tone is patch-tested if this is your first session.
Cooling gel application 2 min
A clear cooling gel is applied to the treatment area. The Soprano handpiece also has built-in contact cooling that pulls heat off your skin in real time.
In-motion laser pass 5–40 min
The handpiece glides across the area in continuous motion, delivering low-fluence pulses at high frequency. This gradual heating method (called "in-motion" or "SHR") is dramatically more comfortable than the high-energy single shots used by older lasers.
Post-treatment soothing 3 min
Aloe-based cooling gel is applied. We send you home with sunblock and a written aftercare card.
Realistic per-area pricing in Noida
Pricing is per session. Most patients book a 6-session package up front to lock in the 20% discount. Maintenance is annual after that.
Laser Hair Removal — per-area pricing
| Option | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Upper lip / chin | ₹1,200 | Single session |
| Underarms | ₹1,800 | Single session — most-booked area |
| Full face | ₹3,500 | Single session |
| Full arms | ₹5,000 | Single session |
| Full legs | ₹7,500 | Single session |
| Full body (women) | ₹15,000 | Single session |
| 6-session package | 20% off | Most patients book this — saves ~₹6k–₹18k |
Package = 6 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart, 20% off. We do not run flash sales — those usually mean the clinic is using older or off-label devices.
Cheaper than this in Noida usually means single-spin IPL, untrained operators, or laser machines past their service interval. Always ask which device is being used and when it was last serviced before booking anywhere.
How many sessions do I actually need?
Hair grows in 3 cycles (anagen, catagen, telogen). Laser only kills follicles in the active anagen phase, which is why we space sessions 4 to 6 weeks apart and need 6 to 8 to catch most follicles. Hormonal areas (chin, upper lip in PCOS) can need 8 to 10 sessions.
If you have PCOS or any hormonal driver of hair growth, we will discuss those separately — laser handles the visible hair, but we may need to address the underlying cause via your gynecologist or endocrinologist.
Who should not get laser hair removal?
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding (results unpredictable due to hormones)
- Recent isotretinoin (Roaccutane) use — wait 6 months after stopping
- Active skin infections, eczema flares, or severe sunburn in the area
- Some autoimmune conditions affecting skin healing — flag any history on consultation
Aftercare — what to do, what to avoid
- No hot showers, sauna, or steam for 24 hours
- No gym/exercise for 24 hours (sweat can irritate treated skin)
- SPF 50 daily on treated areas for 2 weeks — non-negotiable
- No waxing/threading/epilation between sessions; shaving is fine
- If you see hair shedding 7 to 14 days post-session, that is normal and expected
