"Anti-aging" is shorthand for half a dozen different concerns — fine lines, deep wrinkles, sagging skin, volume loss, dull tone, dark spots, hollow eyes. No single treatment covers them all. This page explains how we sequence treatments at Derma Essence based on your specific concern.

Match the treatment to the concern

  • Fine lines, dynamic wrinkles (forehead, glabella, crows feet) → Botox, every 4 to 6 months
  • Volume loss (cheeks, marionettes, lips) → hyaluronic acid filler
  • Skin laxity / sagging (jowls, neck, mid-face) → HIFU annually
  • Skin texture, fine lines, mild laxity → MNRF every 4 weeks for 4 sessions
  • Dull tone, surface ageingchemical peels + monthly Hydrafacial
  • Sun damage, pigmentationpigmentation laser
  • Hollow eyes, dark circles → under-eye filler or PRP

HIFU — closest non-surgical alternative to a facelift

HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) heats the SMAS layer of your skin to ~70°C in microscopic columns, triggering collagen contraction and remodelling. Results show over 2 to 3 months and last 12 to 18 months. We use the Ultracel Q+ device — one of the most precise HIFU machines available.

1

Skin assessment 15 min

We map your face for laxity zones (jowls, jawline, nasolabial folds) and discuss what HIFU realistically achieves vs. surgical alternatives.

2

Topical numbing 20 min

HIFU is uncomfortable but tolerable with topical numbing cream. Some patients also take an oral analgesic 30 minutes before.

3

HIFU treatment 40–60 min

Three depth cartridges (1.5mm, 3mm, 4.5mm) target different skin layers. We deliver 600 to 1,200 lines depending on areas treated. Sensation is brief warmth/pricking that subsides immediately after each line.

4

Recovery 0 hours

You can return to work the same day. Mild redness for an hour, occasional tenderness for 1 to 3 days. Full results visible at month 3 — collagen takes time to rebuild.

What about Botox and fillers?

We do both, conservatively. Some honest principles:

  • We use only FDA/CE-approved products — Restylane, Juvederm, Teosyal for fillers; Botox or Dysport for neuromodulators
  • We refuse to use silicone, "biopolymer" fillers, or any permanent injectable
  • We dose conservatively for a natural look — under-correction is reversible; over-correction is not
  • We will tell you honestly if a procedure is not appropriate for your face shape or age

What you do at home matters most

The single biggest determinant of how your skin ages is what you do daily, not what you do at the clinic. Non-negotiables:

  • SPF 50 daily, even indoors near windows. Reapply every 2 hours outdoors.
  • Retinoid at night 3 to 5 nights a week — start at 0.025% and build up
  • Vitamin C in the morning for antioxidant protection
  • 7 to 8 hours of sleep, hydration, and stress management — not optional

If your skin is already showing signs you want to address, book a consultation. We will assess what is causing what, and build a 6 to 12 month plan rather than selling you a single procedure.

Quick answers

Anti-Aging Treatment — Frequently Asked Questions

When should I start anti-ageing treatment?
Prevention beats correction. We recommend starting a daily SPF + retinol routine in your mid-20s. In-clinic procedures (peels, gentle MNRF, occasional HIFU) make sense from late 20s onwards. Botox and fillers are individual choices, usually after 30.
What is HIFU and is it the same as a facelift?
HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) tightens skin from the inside without surgery. It heats the SMAS layer (the same layer surgical facelifts target) to trigger collagen contraction and remodelling. Results show over 2 to 3 months and last 12 to 18 months. Not a true facelift, but the closest non-surgical alternative.
Will Botox make my face look frozen?
Only if the doctor over-doses. We dose conservatively for natural movement — your friends should notice you look rested, not that you have had work done. We can always add more in a follow-up; we cannot remove it.
Are fillers safe for Indian skin?
Yes. We only use FDA/CE-approved hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Teosyal). HA is fully reversible if you do not like the result. We avoid permanent fillers, silicone, and "biopolymer" fillers — those are dangerous and migrate over time.
How long does HIFU last?
12 to 18 months for most patients. Skin keeps building collagen for 3 months after the session, so peak results are at month 3. We recommend annual maintenance to compound results year over year.
Can I do all of these in one visit?
No — and we would not. Each treatment has its own indication and recovery. We sequence them: typically peels and Hydrafacials first to optimise skin, HIFU at month 1, MNRF at month 3, Botox/fillers as needed.
What is the most-overlooked anti-ageing intervention?
Daily SPF 50 + a basic retinol routine. No procedure compensates for chronic sun damage. We frame the in-clinic treatments as 30 percent of the result; the other 70 percent is what you do at home.
