Non-Surgical Fat Reduction in Noida

Targeted localised fat reduction with cryolipolysis, lipolysis injections, and HIFU. For specific stubborn areas — not a weight-loss replacement. By Dr. Reena Sharma, MD Dermatology.

Non-surgical fat reduction covers a range of less invasive procedures that reduce fat from the body using either a handheld device or injections to destroy fat cells. Several such devices have been approved for this purpose. Placed directly on the skin, they send cold, heat, or sound waves into the fat cells to destroy them without damaging the skin, nerves, or surrounding tissues, while injections dissolve fat cells using an acid similar to bile acid. Because the fat cells are killed or dissolved completely, the results are long-lasting.

Non-surgical fat reduction methods

Depending on the area of the body and the amount of fat stored, the dermatologist may recommend one of the following methods.

Fat freezing (cryolipolysis)

Cryolipolysis works by applying cold to fat cells to destroy them. An appropriately sized applicator is placed on the skin, and a gentle vacuum draws the skin and fat pocket inside, where extreme cold is applied. The frozen fat cells die and are gradually eliminated by the body. It suits areas such as the flanks, abdomen, thighs, and arms, and takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Laser fat removal

Here the dermatologist applies laser applicators that deliver focused laser energy and heat to the targeted area, while a simultaneous cooling system protects the surrounding skin. Results appear within 8 to 12 weeks. It works well on the abdomen, thighs, back, love handles, and under the chin, and the results are permanent.

Radiofrequency treatment

Radiofrequency fat reduction, including radiofrequency lipolysis, uses magnetic waves to heat and melt fat cells without touching the skin — the applicator targets the fat from around 1cm away. It is used for larger body areas and takes up to 30 minutes per session. Multiple sessions may be needed, after which you may see a 15 to 20 per cent reduction in fat.

Laser liposuction

Laser liposuction, or laser lipolysis, uses a laser to target, melt, and remove fat cells. Unlike the non-invasive methods, it requires small incisions. After local anaesthesia numbs the area, the dermatologist makes small incisions and inserts a thin tube to direct laser energy into the treatment area and suction out the melted fat. Some swelling or bruising may follow for a few days before subsiding, with final results beginning to appear after about four weeks.

Is it safe and effective?

These treatments are safe and effective for targeted, stubborn fat pockets when performed by an experienced dermatologist; they are not a substitute for general weight loss. At Derma Essence, treatment is led by Dr. Reena Sharma (MD Dermatology). For related concerns, see double chin treatment or cellulite treatment.

Fat Reduction — FAQ

Is this a weight loss treatment?
No — these are for spot fat reduction in specific stubborn areas (under chin, flanks, abdomen). For general weight loss, lifestyle changes and medical management with endocrinology are needed.
What modalities do you offer?
HIFU body contouring, lipolysis injections (phosphatidylcholine), cryolipolysis (fat freezing). Choice depends on area and patient preference.
How many sessions?
2-4 sessions per area, 4-8 weeks apart. Results gradual over 2-3 months as body clears treated fat.
Are results permanent?
Treated fat cells are permanently destroyed. New weight gain creates new fat in untreated areas. Lifestyle maintenance important.
Cost?
₹15,000-30,000 per session depending on area and modality.
